THE COMMUNITY | Christina Lumba, Vancouver

Meet Christina – a Vancouver RIDE or DIE who over the past year has become an integral part 0f our RIDE Hamilton community. She shows up in a big way and brings the spirit and drive that defines our RIDE tribe. We love you Christina!

What do you do for your 9-5?
I am the lead RMT and the community manager at Myodetox, a manual + movement therapy company. We have physiotherapists, registered massage therapists, and chiropractors. I work both positions full-time, treating our clients about 5 days a week, and when I’m not treating I am connecting and building relationships with other brands that align with ours.

If your bestie were to describe you in three words, what would they be?
Loyal, ambitious, energetic.

How long have you been coming to RIDE?
1 year

What motivates you to get your ass to class?
The urge to escape a high stress environment for just a small moment, then rebalances me back into the environment.

How has RIDE impacted your life?
RIDE has provided me a space to let go of any negative energy & release the mental + physical tension of stress during the class. With instructors that care about technicality, form, and the betterment of each client, I feel they push you to overcome the challenges that are faced in the room.

Outside of your 9-5 – tell us about all the badass things you’re up to
Reading, studying, & reviewing anatomy physiology, I am a nerd. Researching all the dream travelling destinations I want to go to when I retire in a 100 years.

In your opinion, what makes RIDE’s community so unique?
The push to RIDE as one pack. It reminds me of myodetox, no one gets left behind.

Favourite instructor and why?
Michael Kong because he focuses on form, technique & challenges your limits. Matt Sicoly, because of hiphop, but I can never get in his classes.

Best RIDE memory?
James’ USHER vs. Destiny’s Child RIDE. Rode it with a BFF Michael Kong, we sang, danced, held hands, and were in-sync the whole time.

What other workouts do you do outside of RIDE?
Running outside, weight lifting at the gym, boxing at All City Athletics.

Slight sleep in. Morning run. Brunch at whitespot with husband. Shopping. RIDE. Shower. Dinner. Wine. Movie. Sleep
